Save Wisconsin Wildlife is one of Wisconsin's only true pro-wildlife efforts! A project of the Alliance for Animals, Save Wisconsin Wildlife strives to protect the wildlife we share our state with.
Save Wisconsin Wildlife believes that Wisconsin's wild animals have a fundamental right to exist free from being exploited, hunted, and killed by individual and governmental attempts to curb population through lethal control.
What makes us different?
There are several large organizations in Wisconsin that operate under the guise of wildlife advocacy. However, these organizations cater specifically to the hunting community and work in tandem with the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to 'manage' Wisconsin's wildlife so that it can be hunted, trapped, and fished.
These groups are not pro-wildlife; these groups are pro-hunter!
Why is this effort so important?
At present, Wisconsin's wildlife is at the mercy of regulatory bodies that represent a very small minority of our state's population. These bodies are essentially glorified special interest groups. Hunting has been decreasing in Wisconsin for decades. The percentage of Wisconsin residents that hunt is now estimated at 17%. Why does this special interest group wield such power in our state? What can we do to truly protect Wisconsin's wildlife?
Wisconsin's majority, who believe in protecting wildlife, currently have no voice. Save Wisconsin Wildlife aims to change that by advocating for true wildlife protection through grassroots efforts around the state.
Save Wisconsin Wildlife is the state's premier resource for information exchange and networking amongst wildlife enthusiasts and activists throughout Wisconsin.
